It's A Boy! And A Girl!

While we are thrilled with the prospect of several of our children going to homes of their own this year, we are also busy welcoming new eaglets to our homes. These two charming and adorable kids joined us just a week ago...and they are doing great!

Please meet Jamie. Jamie is 7 years old with a repaired heart condition. He is super smart, personable and seems to just jump in to whatever activities are going on. We are so thankful that Jamie was able to come to Eagles Wings instead of returning to his orphanage after surgery.

And here's Jinger! Jinger is 3 years old and has a sweet, active personality. Her development seems on track overall except for language delays. She is keeping her ayis busy as she loves to explore her new home. You can see that she is also enjoying her days at school.

If you would like to help sponsor Jamie or Jinger, please see the sponsorship tab above for information.
THANK YOU!

One Less!

Yes, AGAIN! Better get used to it because we have a lot of adoptions in the works for this summer.

Something very special about this one though is that this little guy, formerly a resident of Eagles Wings 5, was adopted by a local Chinese couple. They have very much wanted a child and were thrilled to be able to make this little boy their son. We are so happy for this family, and as a bonus, they live only a short drive away so we will be able to visit!

Congratulations, my smiling boy!

Care Package!

It doesn't really matter how old (or young) you are...there's nothing like a care package from home.

 A book? For me?  Thanks!

Thanks for the hats!

  My friend likes them, too.

Seeing my mom and dad for the first time....priceless.

IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!

Please welcome the newest resident of Eagles Wings 5. I don't share names and birthdates, so let's just call her princess and say that she is nine months old. Her special need is congenital small eyes. She has limited vision, but she is not blind. She will benefit greatly from the therapy of our ayi trained by Bethel Foundation in Beijing as well as the nutrition, holding and playtime that she will get in Eagles Wings 5.

She is used to the still and quiet of an orphanage baby ward so the busy-ness of Eagles Wings 5 was a little overwhelming today, but I am sure in a few days she will begin to enjoy all the new sounds and smells and touch.

Would you please consider sponsoring our little princess? She needs  several sponsors to help us provide the food, clothing and special care that she needs. We supply the love for free.

One Less!

Today this adorable little boy met his very own mama. He came to Eagles Wings in August of 2010 when some lovely ladies from Australia found him neglected due to superstitions about his skin condition. He soon caught up and blossomed into the charmer (and ring leader!) that we have come to love.
Congratulations to the happy family! Gideon, we will miss you!!

Happy Birthday!

It was a birthday kind of weekend. Yesterday we celebrated Shaelyn turning 8...

Today we celebrated Charlie turning 4!

We all had a lot of fun as I think you can see. I really tried to enjoy every minute because next year both Shaelyn and Charlie will be celebrating with their own families far away. What more could a child wish for?

With a thankful heart,
